“The Clinic at Walmart” sites will remain open until a close date is negotiated with Walmart.
The health system attributed the closures to low patient volume. Each site would have to see around 25 patients per day to break even, and the locations tagged for closure are seeing less than 10-12 patients per day, according to a Bangor Daily News report.
The closures seem to buck the trend of increasing retail clinic affiliations among healthcare systems and retailers.
