St. Vincent’s Hospital Manhattan Files Bankruptcy Petition

After months of financial uncertainty, St. Vincent’s Hospital Manhattan filed a petition for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Federal District Court in Manhattan, according to a report in The New York Times.

The filing showed liabilities of more than $1 billion, according to the report.

The hospital said the filing would allow it to continue seeing patients as it closes.
