The board of commissioners for Public Hospital District No. 2 in Snohomish County approved an agreement under which the 1,245-bed medical center leases Stevens and assumes management.

Stevens officials said the smaller hospital needs a strong partner “to ensure it continues to improve and grow the services of the hospital.”
