New Jersey’s Newton Memorial, Atlantic Health Merger Official

The merger between Newton (N.J.) Memorial Hospital and Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health is official, according to an Atlantic Health news release.

The merger will give Newton Memorial patients access to Atlantic Health’s marquis services, including stroke, neuroscience and cardiac care and greater access to pediatric and specialty care, clinical trials, advanced protocols for emergent care and a strengthened primary care network.

Newton and Atlantic Health have partnered in the past through a patient transfer system that allowed cardiovascular, neuroscience and neonatal care patients to receive transfer care between the two systems.

Tom Senker, president of Newton Memorial Hospital, will hold an officer position at Atlantic Health.
