Rush University Medical Center names Susan Crown board chairman

Rush University Medical Center appointed Susan Crown chairman of its board, the Chicago-based hospital announced Nov. 20.

Here are four things to know:

1. Ms. Crown's appointment went into effect Nov. 14. She will also serve as the chairman of Rush health system's board.

2. She succeeds William Goodyear, who served as the chairman of the hospital's board since 2013 and chairman of the health system's board since 2017. Mr. Goodyear will continue in his role as trustee.

3. Ms. Crown currently serves as chairman and CEO of private investment firm Owl Creek Partners and founder and chairman of Susan Crown Exchange. She has been involved with Rush for more than three decades and most recently served as vice chair of the Rush University Medical Center board. She was first named a trustee of the health system in 1986.

4. Ms. Crown earned a bachelor's degree from New Haven, Conn.-based Yale University, a graduate degree from New York City-based New York University and attended the Evanston, Ill.-based Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.
