On March 2, Poudre Valley notified its transcription services department that it has been in talks with Burlington, Mass.-based Nuance, a transcription company, to take over the department.

The health system has said it’s working on an agreement that would offer employment to all PVHS transcriptionists, providing them opportunities for “meaningful employment as PVHS transcription volume inevitably declines,” according to the report. Poudre Valley is converting to Epic’s electronic medical record system, lessening the need for transcription services.
