Pennsylvania medical center denies claims CEO was fired over race, age

Community Health Net, a medical center in Erie, Pa., denied claims in a discrimination lawsuit filed by former CEO R. Anthony Snow, MD, local news platform GoErie.com reports.

Dr. Snow was fired in April 2017, and he filed a lawsuit against the medical center in November seeking his job back in addition to lost wages and benefits.

In the lawsuit, Dr. Snow, a 64-year-old black man, claimed the medical center's board of directors fired him based on his age and race. The lawsuit alleges Dr. Snow was mistreated by the medical center's board for hiring white physicians. It also alleges Dr. Snow's firing stemmed from his refusal to dismiss employees at the board's request.

Community Health Net denied all the claims, according to the report. Read the full story here.
