In conjunction with Earth Day yesterday, the American Society for Healthcare Engineering recognized 18 hospitals and health systems for using innovative strategies to save energy and make energy efficiency a priority.

University of Pittsburgh Medical Center plans to reorganize its workforce by slowing hiring, potentially reducing its hiring rate by approximately 2,000 employees this year, according to a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review report.
