In its annual roundup of the fastest-growing jobs in the country, eight of the top 10 jobs on the CareerCast.com 2017 list are in healthcare.

  2. Physical therapist: 71,800 new jobs by 2024, $85,400
  3. Emergency medical technician: 58,500 new jobs by 2024, $32,670
  4. Nurse practitioner: 53,400 new jobs by 2024, $107,460
  5. Occupational therapist: 30,400 new jobs by 2024, $81,910
  6. Physician assistant: 28,700 new jobs by 2024, $101,480
  7. Diagnostic medical sonographer: 27,600 new jobs by 2024, $64,280
  8. Optician: 17,800 new jobs by 2024, $35,530
