The system told Becker’s via email the affected positions are “redundant” and “no longer essential.”

“The identified redundancies have been addressed, so no future actions are needed. It’s part of routine, good business practices. No services are affected. There will be no impact to patient care, quality or safety,” the statement reads.

The system did not share any additional information about the job eliminations.

The layoffs follow various changes in executive leadership at NYC Health + Hospitals. In August, the system announced four new CEOs. Prior to that announcement, five other system facilities named new CEOs.
