Mr. Thompson succeeds current CEO Sister Mary Jean Ryan, who will transition to SSM Board Chair. Ms. Ryan was appointed SSM Health Care’s first ever president and CEO when it formed in 1986. Mr. Thompson has served in various leadership capacities at SSM, most recently as president and COO and as regional vice president before that.
