Nonprofit Health Plans Have Highest NCQA Quality Rankings

For the sixth year in a row, not-for-profits are among the top-ranking health insurance plans in the nation in quality rankings by the National Committee for Quality Assurance, according to a release by Alliance for Advancing Nonprofit Health Care.

In NCQA rankings for 2010, not-for-profits make up:

• Nine of the top 10 in rankings of 227 private plans.
• All top 10 spots for the 183 Medicare plans reporting.
• All top10 spots for the 104 Medicaid plans reporting.
