Here are seven things to know about Dr. Evans.
1. He began his new leadership position Jan. 1.
2. In his new role, Dr. Evans will lead the 115-year-old NJSNA, which represents the state’s 110,000 registered nurses, according to a news release.
3. Dr. Evans has more than 42 years of experience in nursing.
4. He is an assistant professor and advanced practice nurse track coordinator of the graduate nursing program at Felician University in Lodi, N.J.
5. Additionally, he has his own practice that focuses on psychotherapy, medication management, counseling and educational programs, the release states.
6. Dr. Evans is the founding president of the Academy of Doctors of Nursing Practice in New Jersey.
7. Dr. Evans will work with Kate Gillespie, RN, who the NJSNA welcomed as president-elect. In her role, Ms. Gillespie will serve as chairwoman of the Institute for Nursing, the foundation of the NJSNA, and serve as a representative to the American Nurses Association Member Assembly, the release states.
