Providers in the state will be subject to Medicaid reimbursement cuts beginning July 1. The cuts range from 11.84 percent for large hospitals to 1.8 percent for nursing homes, but amount to a 6 percent overall reduction.
A 10 percent reduction had previously been included in Gov. Dennis Daugaard’s budget, but a one-time $12.2 million payment brought the cuts down to 6 percent.
Providers in the state are expected to face even more cuts to Medicaid reimbursement in future years unless the task force, which meets monthly, recommends measures that can be included in future legislation.
