Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in New York Plans Neonatal ICU

Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville, N.Y., has applied for a certificate of need to add a 10-bed neonatal intensive care unit, according to a hospital news release.

The hospital plans to convert six maternity beds, two rehabilitation beds and two critical care beds to beds for the neonatal ICU.

Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital will partner with Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo (N.Y.) to develop the ICU. Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo is the regional referral center for critically ill newborns, and the new ICU will be connected to the hospital via a “hub and spoke model,” according to the release.
