Data on the 2009 fiscal year and the second quarter of fiscal year 2010 revealed that hospital cost trends have moderated substantially and in some cases reversed as hospitals have made efforts to cut costs.
Payments to hospitals for services were $2.4 billion lower in the 2009-10 period than they were between 2004 and 2008, according to the report.
