According to a university spokeswoman, the shortfall comprises 5 percent of the entity’s budget. University officials are considering “academic partnerships,” “increasing revenue by maximizing patient care capacity” and “reducing outmigration of local patients” in order to increase funds, according to the report.
University, medical school and hospital system budgets will come before the LSU board of supervisors for a vote on Aug. 26.
