John Bardis takes on HHS job: 3 things to know

John Bardis was named assistant secretary for administration at HHS.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Bardis.

1. He is the founder and former CEO of Alpharetta, Ga.-based MedAssets. He retired from the company in 2015. In 2016, Pamplona Capital completed the purchase of MedAssets for $2.75 billion.

2. During his tenure at MedAssets, the company went public and saw its total net revenue rise from $188.5 million in 2007 to $720.2 million in 2014, according to a news release.

3. Mr. Bardis also founded Hire Heroes USA, which offers transition and employment assistance to veterans.
