The expansion would extend coverage to 62,000 adults and draw $400 million in matching federal funds. An additional 29,000 Idaho residents will become eligible for Medicaid if the measure passes.
“I strongly support expanding healthcare to folks who need it,” said Mr. Otter. “It’s good sense, and it’s the right thing to do.”
Idaho is one of four states with Medicaid proposals on their ballots for the upcoming midterm elections.
