The CEOs are part of the Catalyst CEO Champions For Change, a global nonprofit aiming to increase the number of women who hold positions of power in workplaces. The group represents more than 10 million employees and more than $3 trillion in global revenue.
From 2013-18, CEOs who were part of the Catalyst group reported improved female representation in top leadership positions. The companies increased the number of female board directors to 30.7 percent in 2018, up from 22.6 percent in 2013. The number of board directors who are women of color also increased in the five-year time period, from 2.8 percent in 2013 to 5.2 percent in 2018.
