Hospital IQ names Miami Cancer Institute executive to board of directors: 3 things to know

Hospital IQ, a predictive analytics platform, has elected Michael J. Zinner, MD, CEO and executive medical director of the Miami Cancer Institute, to its board of directors.

Here are three things to know about Dr. Zinner.

 

1. He has more than four decades of clinical and executive leadership experience.

 

2. Before joining the Miami Cancer Institute, a new collaboration between Coral Gables-based Baptist Health South Florida and New York City-based Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, he held various positions in Boston. He was surgeon-in-chief at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, co-founder and co-director of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Center at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the founder of Harvard Medical School’s Center for Surgery and Public Health.

 

3. Dr. Zinner’s career also includes serving on the board of directors of Boston-based Partners HealthCare System and Chesterfield, Mo.-based Sisters of Mercy Health System.
