Hospital Employment Up Slightly During October

Hospital employment reached 4,778,100 in October, up 3,300 workers from 4,774,800 in September, on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

From Oct. 2010 to Oct. 2011, hospitals in the United States added roughly 84,000 jobs.

During October, physicians offices employed 2,392,000 on a seasonally adjusted basis, up slightly from 2,383,800 in September and up from 3,327,800 in Oct. 2010.
