Hospitals reported 104 CEO exits from January through October 2025 — a 15.5% increase from 90 recorded during the same period in 2024.
The finding comes from executive coaching firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas’ latest report on CEO turnovers in the U.S., shared with Becker’s Dec. 2.

3. In October specifically, 110 CEO exits were reported across industries — down by 25% from 146 the month prior.
4. In healthcare, Becker’s has reported at least 197 hospital and health system CEO exits, including retirements and resignations, since Jan. 2.
