Pensacola, Fla.-based Healthcare Plus Solutions Group acquired uLeadership, a professional development and research company focused on relational leadership education for nurse leaders.

HPSG was founded in 2022 by healthcare veterans Quint Studer and Dan Collard. The company partners with the American Organization for Nursing Leadership as well as the American Nurses Association on nursing education and has organization created the Human Capital Ecosystem framework designed for organically attracting, retaining and engaging talent.

“This is a natural next step for us,” said Mr. Studer. “We’ve always valued nurses and sought out their voices, and we’ve always had a people-first mindset. We have worked in this industry for four decades and have always been committed to creating great places for people to work, practice and receive care.”

uLeadership was founded by Dr. Kay Kennedy, CEO; Dr. Lucy Leclerc, chief innovation and learning officer; and Susan Campis, chief wellness officer. The company is known for its Human-Centered Leadership in Healthcare framework, which emphasizes well-being, trust, and relational leadership to improve outcomes for nurse leaders.

Both companies take a “skate where the puck is going” approach to healthcare leadership to help organizations win in the rapidly changing talent marketplace.

“There is a disconnect between what today’s talent wants/needs and what leaders sometimes know how to give,” said Mr. Collard. “Together, we can bridge that gap. We know where the industry is headed, and the synergy we create will help our client-partners get there faster.”

HPSG’s recent work includes the 2024 book The Human Margin: Building the Foundations of Trust, coauthored by Studer and Dr. Katherine A. Meese, and the upcoming Genfluence: How to Lead a Multigenerational Workforce, set to publish in winter 2025.

uLeadership also has a forthcoming book, Human-Centered Leadership in Healthcare: The Revolution Continues, will be published this fall by the American Nurses Association.

“From the minute we started looking for an acquiring partner, HPSG was our first choice,” said Dr. Kennedy. “We’ve known Quint and Dan for a long time and based on our observations of their internal values – and the fact that they’ve always put people front and center – we were confident it was the perfect fit.”
