The program, ACS THRIVE, which stands for Transforming Healthcare Resources to Increase Value and Efficiency, was announced at an event July 18 in Washington, D.C. The 10-15 pilot hospitals will focus on measuring the cost and quality of care associated with three surgical conditions. The results from the initial participants will be used to create a scalable model for hospitals around the country.
“As the patient care model continues to evolve, we must place a premium on providing the utmost quality and efficiency in our hospitals. This program will help hospitals identify clear opportunities to do that,” ACS Executive Director David Hoyt, MD, said in a press release.
