Hartford HealthCare names new board chair

Joanne Berger-Sweeney, PhD, a neuroscientist, has been appointed chair of Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare.

Dr. Berger-Sweeney is the current president of Hartford-based Trinity College, the first woman and first African American to hold that position. She succeeds Greg Deavens in the Hartford HealthCare position.

The system reported an operating gain of $2.6 million on revenue of $2.9 billion for the six months ending March 31. Overall net income totaled $67.2 million.
