Ohio Valley Health Services & Education Corp. is the parent company of Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, W.Va., and East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, Ohio. Mr. Felici filed a complaint against the hospital parent company and American Healthcare Solutions for allegedly breaching its contract and not paying him after he resigned as company CEO in April. He claimed the hospital parent company agreed in the contract to pay him $303,000 a year over a three-year contract period in addition to bonus compensation of up to $100,000 for each contracted year, according to the report.

Mr. Felici stated in his complaint that the contract entitled him to receive the total compensation under the then-current term and that the total amount would be made to him in a single payment 30 days after his termination date. The hospital parent company allegedly notified Mr. Felici in July that all payments and benefits would stop, according to the report.

Mr. Felici also claimed in the complaint that American Health Solutions “intentionally interfered” with his contract with Ohio Valley Health Services & Education Corp. On top of lost wages, Mr. Felici is suing the hospital parent company for loss of earning capacity, loss of benefits, mental anguish and attorney fees and costs, according to the report.

Mr. Felici currently serves as CEO at Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville, W. Va., and is seeking a trial by jury.
