Florida hospital to spend $10M on new NICU

After the birth of the 1,500th baby this year, Florida state administrators approved the construction of a Level II neonatal ICU at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach, according to News 13.

The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration approved a Certificate of Need exemption for the hospital, which was licensed as a Level I Neonatal Nursery.

The hospital plans to spend $10 million on construction and equipment, according to the report. The new Level II NICU is slated to open in summer 2015.
