Past and present patients between the ages of 13 and 19 were invited to the Hollywood Premiere Night-themed dance in the hospital’s auditorium. Girls received manicures and makeovers, leaving their hospital gowns behind for prom dresses.
“We work with these patients day in and day out, and we see what they go through,” Shannon Bajwa, the hospital’s certified child life specialist, told KLFY News 10. “We see their ups, we see their downs, and this is one of their ups, and we’re able to see them enjoying life and being their normal selves.”
