Fletcher Allen Workers Picket Outside Executive Offices in Vermont

Approximately 50 unionized employees and supporters picketed outside the executive offices of Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt., Feb. 15, protesting stalled contract negotiations, according to a Vermont Digger report.

The picketers included nurses, surgical technicians, respiratory therapists, paramedics and other technical professionals who are represented by the Vermont Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals, according to the report.

Contract negotiations between those employees and the system have been stalled since Feb. 8. The issue at hand is the "years of experience" for 100 technicians who are reportedly below their appropriate wage level.

The next contract negotiation is slated for Feb. 21 and the technical professionals' contract expires March 1.
