The five CHI hospitals and their cancer centers participating in the program are: Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Neb.; Penrose-St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs, Colo.; Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln, Neb.; Saint Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, Neb.; and St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, Md.

There are 30 cancer centers from 22 states participating in the Community Cancer Centers Program, a nationwide pilot program in state-of-the-art cancer care. The program seeks to study ways to give patients access to the latest, evidence-based care closer to where they live since many cannot commute to major academic medical centers for treatment.
