Employees at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center May Leave SEIU

Employees at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley, Calif., may soon vote to leave the Service Employees International Union to join the National Union of Healthcare Workers, according to an NUHW news release.

More than 1,200 workers at the hospital signed a petition calling for an election to leave SEIU that will be submitted today.

Alta Bates Summit is an affiliate of Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health.
