The NYC Crisis Prevention and Response Task Force was created in April 2018 to improve the emergency response after a person with mental illness calls 911. It was created after two people with mental health issues were killed by police, according to the report.
Community leaders and mental health advocates on the task force told the Post their ideas were not incorporated into the plan press release by the mayor, and they were not informed of the process.
A mayoral spokesperson said all the recommendations presented by the task force were included and that members endorsed the ideas included in the final plan, according to the Post.
