David Wood Jr., MD. CMO of Beaumont Health (Royal Oak, Mich.). Dr. Wood serves as the CMO of Beaumont Health, a nonprofit health system comprising eight hospitals and 153 outpatient sites. Dr. Wood oversees a medical staff of around 5,000 physicians and maintains his role as president of Beaumont Physician Partners, where he focuses on developing, implementing and monitoring the physician-hospital strategic plan for Beaumont’s medical administrative arm. He also manages the Beaumont Physician Practice Plan, focused on recruitment and retention. Prior to joining Beaumont, Dr. Wood was a nationally known cancer surgeon and served as chief of the Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan Health System’s division of urologic oncology for nine years.
