Antoinette Hardy-Waller, BSN, RN, was appointed chair of the CommonSpirit Health board of stewardship trustees.
Four things to know about Ms. Hardy-Waller, per a system news release shared with Becker’s:
1. Ms. Hardy-Waller succeeded Chris Lowney, effective July 1.
2. She has served on the CommonSpirit board since 2019 and on the Catholic Health Initiatives board since 2009. Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives and San Francisco-based Dignity Health formed Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health in February 2019.
3. Ms. Hardy-Waller began her healthcare career as a critical care nurse and became “an entrepreneur and clinician with extensive leadership, management and governance experience in both acute and post-acute settings.”
4. She is also founder and CEO of the Leverage Network, a Chicago-based nonprofit focused on increasing the representation of African Americans in healthcare governance.
