Comcast, Blue Cross healthcare JV names CEO: 4 things to know

The healthcare joint venture launched by Independence Health Group, the parent company of Independence Blue Cross, and Comcast named Carina Edwards CEO April 3.

Four things to know:

1. Ms. Edwards will lead the digital health joint venture, Quil, in its efforts to personalize information provided to patients and their caregivers.

2. Launched in 2018, Quil has expanded its cloud-based platform. The platform is expected to be nationally accessible, and the company plans to launch their first patient pilot later in 2019.

3. Before joining Quil, Ms. Edwards served as senior vice president of customer experience and corporate development for health IT company Imprivata.

4. She spent time at Philips Healthcare, Nuance and Zynx Health.
