Columbia Medical Center’s Dr. Mehmet Oz Visits North Carolina Hospital to Kick Off New Relationship Between the Facilities

Mehmet Oz, MD, a cardiothoracic surgeon at Columbia University Medical Center who is a television personality and best selling author, toured Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C., as part of a new partnership between the two organizations.

Columbia HeartSource, a cardiovascular clinical and management group at Columbia University Medical Center, will offer its expertise in cardiac care to CaroMont Health, Gaston Memorial’s parent. Columbia HeartSource has a network of partnerships with 12 health care systems from Florida to New York.

Dr. Oz hosted the award-winning Transplant! TV series. He has appeared as a health expert on The Oprah Winfrey Show for five seasons, guest-hosted the Charlie Rose show and has appeared on Good Morning America, the Today show, Larry King Live and The View.
