Prior to taking on his current position, Dr. Andrabi served as president and CEO of Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.
As chief physician executive officer and senior vice president of clinical innovation, Dr. Andrabi oversees the medical staff, academic affairs and research, patient safety and quality and clinical integration, as well as being responsible for Mercy Medical Partners, a group of 200 employed physicians.
With his years at Mercy and experience as a physician and administrator, Dr. Andrabi believes the move to population health management will help Mercy follow its mission statement to “extend the healing ministry of Jesus by improving the health of the communities we serve, with a special emphasis on those who are poor and underserved.”
“It’s clear a future of value-based, population-driven care is where healthcare is headed, and in my opinion, where it must head,” he told Becker’s Hospital Review in March. “How can we improve the health of our communities without population health management?”
Dr. Andrabi is a diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Managed Care Medicine. Additionally, he is a fellow if the National Institute for Program Director Development, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Association of International Physicians of NW-Ohio and the Academy of Medicine of Toledo and Lucas County.
