By Sept. 5, 112 employees will have been laid off. Twelve more will be gone by the end of the year, according to the report.
The health system’s board voted Monday to initiate layoffs after months of other spending cuts. Centra’s President and CEO, E. W. Tibbs, attributed the layoffs to decreased lengths of stay, reduced readmissions and the state of the economy as a whole, according to the report.
