Cedars-Sinai has established the Thomas M. Priselac Center for Innovation in Performance Improvement in honor of the organization’s former president and CEO.

The Los Angeles-based institution said in a May 21 news release that it also has created the Thomas M. Priselac Administrative Fellowship as a tribute to Mr. Priselac.

“Tom Priselac has been instrumental to the arc of Cedars-Sinai’s success over three decades,” Arthur Ochoa, senior vice president of advancement and chief advancement officer, said in the release.

Mr. Priselac retired last year after 45 years with the organization, 30 of which he served as president and CEO. Peter Slavin, MD, succeeds him.

Donors have gifted $5 million to support the development of the center, which aims to build on the evolving digital landscape of medicine — particularly in areas such as information technology, data analytics and clinical operations, Cedars-Sinai said.

Cedars-Sinai, a nonprofit academic healthcare organization, has more than 40 locations, with more than 4,500 physicians and nurses.
