Abigail Obre, a spokesperson for the centers, told the Sun-Sentinel the layoffs were systemwide but did not say how many employees or which positions were affected. The layoffs reportedly include staff in Boca Raton.
“Cancer Treatment Centers of America has found it necessary to make certain organizational and staffing changes to align with declining reimbursement trends,” said Ms. Obre.
Cancer Treatment Centers of America operates hospitals in Atlanta, Chicago, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Tulsa, Okla., as well as outpatient centers in Illinois and Arizona.
