Baptist Health South Florida Spends $12M on Tax-Relief Bonuses for Employees

Nearly all of Baptist Health South Florida’s 15,000 employees will receive a $1,000 tax-relief bonus that will cost the system $12 million, according to a Miami Herald report.

All employees will receive the “one-time employee appreciation bonus” except executives, from assistant vice presidents and above, and system-employed physicians, according to the report.

The bonus is designed to make up for losses in take-home pay caused by the fiscal cliff deal that increased payroll taxes.
