Here are five points:
1. Dr. Kerschner is dean of the Medical College of Wisconsin Medical School as well as provost and executive vice president of the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
2. He became dean of the medical school and executive vice president of the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2011. He assumed the provost role in 2017.
3. He also serves as a professor in the departments of otolaryngology, communication sciences, microbiology and immunology.
4. Dr. Kerschner has previously served as chair of the AAMC council of deans.
5. He will serve a one-year term as chair-elect, followed by a one-year term as chair beginning in November 2019.
