American Association of Nurse Practitioners selects new president

Stephen Ferrara, DNP, has been selected as the new president of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Dr. Ferrara is a practicing nurse practitioner and associate dean of clinical affairs at Columbia University’s School of Nursing in New York City. He previously also served as the executive director of the Nurse Practitioner Association New York State.

As president of the AANP, he will oversee health policy and lead efforts to further expand research in the field. 

Dr. Ferrara’s appointment to this new role is effective immediately. The allotted term for AANP presidency is a two-year appointment.
