Affinity Medical Center laying off employees

Affinity Medical Center in Massillon, Ohio, is laying off employees amid restructuring efforts, according to a report on IndeOnline.com.

“As you know, hospitals routinely adjust staffing to current patient volumes. These adjustments impact a small percentage of the overall workforce,” Susan Koosh, vice president of marketing and community relations at AMC, said in an emailed statement to Becker’s Hospital Review. She added: “The hospital will continue to deliver the same level of high-quality care that patients, their families and the community have come to expect.”

Ms. Koosh did not provide an exact number of employees affected by the job cuts. However, workers told IndeOnline.com the cuts could potentially affect as many as 50 employees. One worker said in the report positions affected include licensed practical nurses, orderlies, lab technicians, secretaries and administrative workers, among others.
