Over the weekend, patients from Hanford Community Medical Center and Central Valley General Hospital, also in Hanford, were relocated to the new facility.
The new, $114 million facility replaces the older hospitals, which were both owned by Adventist. The Hanford Community facility will be used to provide business and support services, and Central Valley will continue to provide obstetrical services.
The 142-bed facility provides access to more technologically advanced equipment and will improve healthcare access for the community, according to the report.
