Derick Ziegler assumed his role as CEO in August 2010 and has shadowed 350 Baptist Memorial employees so far. He said his ultimate goal is to shadow every employee from each department of the hospital.
“Job shadowing gives me an opportunity to get to know our frontline staff and for them to get to know me. It also helps me to better understand what they do and how that contributes to our mission,” he said in the report. “I feel very strongly that job shadowing helps me make better decisions in my job.”
