6 hospitals cutting jobs

The following hospitals and health systems cut jobs or revealed plans to cut jobs in October:

1. Little Rock, Ark.-based CHI St. Vincent cut 28 hospital positions in the state, attributing the move to shifting healthcare needs.

2. Twenty employees at Baystate Noble Hospital in Westfield, Mass., including 15 nurses on the medical/surgical floor, lost their jobs.

3. West Reading, Pa.-based Tower Health is cutting jobs at Pottstown (Pa.) Hospital and Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia.

4. North Tonawanda, N.Y.-based DeGraff Memorial Hospital will end inpatient services by the end of 2019, affecting 55 jobs.

5. Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, Minn., plans to cut 17 positions, affecting nursing staff in the hospital and progressive care unit.

6. Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, Tenn., eliminated or restructured 30 management positions as part of a management reorganization.
