Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn., is expected to break ground this spring on its $380 million expansion project, which was stalled for two years due to the economy, according to a Chattanooga Times Free Press report.
The project was first announced in 2006 with a projected 2012 completion date and a $329 million cost estimate. Each phase of the project will require approval from Denver-based Catholic Health Initiatives, Memorial’s parent company.
The project is expected to add 500 jobs to Memorial, according to the report. Expansion is slated to begin in April with the construction of a new central utility plant.
