The cuts are expected to save the health system, which operates 214-bed Northern Michigan Regional Hospital, $9 million over the next year, according to the report.
The hospital cited increasing bad debt as one of the main drivers for the cuts. The hospital’s bad debt and uncompensated care is up 21 percent compared to a year ago.
